Cherry Tree, an update

The Farm and devil birds.

So today we went up to Lana and Gene's house ( Jody's Mom and Step Dad). They have a whole bunch of interesting animals on their property. I was able to get close to a few Peacock's, Guinea Hens and I even got up close and personal with a few gigantic Bumble Bees! It was quite the experience to "sneak" up on these subjects, during which time I was able to realize this one unique fact about myself... I'm not sneaky ;)

Jody has informed me that our next house will have some extra property for her horse, chickens, Guinea Hens, Peacocks and a goat. I am just fine with all of these animals but am a bit worried about the amount of "waste" they will all collectively create. I am now taking applications for clean-up crew.

Here is your standard Guinea Hen, aka Skeletor. It's my cute little nickname for them as their heads look as if they are pure bone. The first time I saw them I did call them devil birds. I now refer to them as "my friends". I use this term loosely however, as they do not seem to like me at all.

Here are the devil birds walking together..

I would like to note, Bumble Bees can and will sting you, please be careful and don't try this at home unless you have an epi pen available or are not concerned at all about any allergy you may have.

Here are a couple images of the Peacocks. I have many more... I seem to have this odd fascination with these birds and took around 20 pictures of each. Ha... well, not quite but I did get carried away. These are a few of my favorite, especially the one where Mr. Peacock is letting me know he does not want me taking his picture.

I hope you enjoyed today's farm adventure. I have been looking forward to photographing those Peacocks for quite some time and I am so happy to have been able to get so close to them, and finally capture some of their unique characteristics.

Here are a few random pictures for the day. First up is our cute little Phoebe... awww....

These last two are from the backyard. I am documenting our cherry tree as it changes through the season.

Winter in April... well, it is Utah.

What a morning! We woke up to at least 8 inches of snow... everything was buried! It will usually snow at least once in April, but I don't ever recall having this much snow. The good news is, it will be clearing up the next couple of days and most of this snow will melt.
