I Love ME

Here are my pictures from Maine. I had a great time with family I knew and family I was meeting for the first time. We had a surprise birthday party for my Mom's Aunt LaVerne, she just turned 80! I hope that when I am 80, i'm just like her.

I loved Maine! The smell of the ocean, the trees, the feeling of being out in the middle of nowhere but feeling at home all at the same time. My Mom and I were spoiled rotten by family and we can't wait for them to visit us!

While visiting we went to LL Bean in Freeport and fishing on the Atlantic Ocean. Freeport is a small but ritzy area of Maine and is home to LL Bean. There are many other shops such as Coach, The North Face, Banana Republic, Harry & David and oodles more. Come to find out, a few of my family members worked at LL Bean.

Ocean fishing by the way, is quite difficult ha ha. We caught more seaweed than fish! It really isn't that hard, but with low tides it sure makes things more interesting. Mom and I both caught ourselves a Mackerel. I think the real reason we weren't catching many fish were the seals. They eat Mackerel and we saw a couple of seals swimming around with those fish in their mouths. Sneaky buggahs.

Here is Aunt LaVerne, Grandma Lou and my Mom, outside of Land's End.

I wish I had more photos of family and the scenery. We were just so busy having fun and visiting that pictures went untaken. My visual and sensory memories will hold me for awhile, but I can tell already that another visit is coming right up.

Red Sox Nation, Baby!

Here are my pictures from the game! The whole idea of the trip was to go to Boston to see the Red Sox play, as a birthday gift. Needless to say, it was the best gift ever! I took a few pictures of the Green Monster and some of the park. This particular game they played the Balitmore Orioles. The game ended in the 9th inning after being tied 4 -4. A few bunts and an overthrow and Boston won! I was joined at the game with my Mom, her cousin and my second cousin Randy and his son-in-law Dan. I had beer and a Fenway Frank. Life was good ;)

Outside Fenway Park.

Jason Varitek, my favorite Red Sox player. He is the catcher as well as team captain.

Around Town

Here are some images of around town and Salem.

So this is a cute street that was on the South End of Boston in the Polish community area. Our Hotel/Motel was right around the corner and we passed by here every day on our way to the Subway System.

This is a picture of the inside of the Subway, pointing us to the Red Line. We didn't have a rental, so we walked and used the mass transit system. I must say it was pretty awesome. I'm sure that it was quite obvious we were out of towners, but by the time we left... we had it down ;)

In addition to the Subway, I rode a train for the first time! It's weird to say, me being 27... but I do live in Utah ha ha. We took the train out to Salem for a walk around the town. For those of you who don't know, Salem was made known for Witch Trials. Anyone could be accused of being a witch, after which they would be sent to trial where they were almost always sentenced to a holding period in the dungeon before being put to death.

We hit the Dungeon Museum that was a replica of what the actual dungeons looked like. That was the only museum we ended up going to, it just seemed like going to a spook ally, not a real museum.

This is Mom, the newly accused witch in town. The sunshine ball is for my friend Toni, she owns her own coffee shop and sends out her little sunshine with her customers that vacation.

After a walk around town visiting shops and having lunch. We decided to take the Salem Ferry back to Boston Harbor. I took some pictures of the Salem Harbor and some from the boat. Enjoy!

Boston on the North End

Here are some pictures I took of the North End.

A fancy marina.

Recognize this from any movies?

We ate at the “Beantown Pub”, it was quite delicious.

Ensign Peak Pics

These pictures were taken on Ensign Peak, located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This was later on in the evening after The Bayou. We picked up some more people on the way. I had never done night shots with the digital camera I used for this evening, so some of them didn't turn out like I had planned. However, some say that it makes them more interesting. So here they are!

My Boys

Here are three of my favorite boys. I have others as well... but I'm only showcasing these three for now. From Left to Right: Jordan, Kevin and Michael.

We went to The Bayou, which is a private club for members (of course) and located in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. As you can see, we had a fabulous time!

They have a huge beer menu! Remember my post when I told you about Mill St. Brewery and their Coffee Porter? Well The Bayou will sometimes carry a very similar beer! Here is Kevin enjoying a selection from Rogue.

Great Food, even Vegetarian items!

Until next time! And don't look at me like that! I'm not the paparazzi!
